Did you know that Concord, Massachusetts, is older than the United States itself? Established in 1635, the town has spent nearly four centuries at the center of some of the most influential events, people, and ideas in American history.

Today, Concord is a quiet suburban community best known for its remarkable historical legacy. Visitors travel from around the world to stand where the Battles of Lexington and Concord marked the beginning of the American Revolution, or walk around its historical streets and buildings. Through its museum, guided tours, historical reenactments, and preserved landmarks, Concord continues to bring its rich past to life for new generations.

As technology continues to evolve, the Concord Visitor Center has reimagined how visitors experience its history by transforming notable historical sites into an interactive digital experience. Through Hoverlay's augmented reality (AR) platform, the Concord Visitor Center created Concord Go!, a self-guided AR tour that brings the town's historic landmarks to life.

Using Hoverlay's AR technology, visitors can simply walk to specific locations, and point their phones at buildings or historical sites. In doing so, they are able to unlock historical figures, videos, artwork, and narrated stories that reveal the significance of each site. Stops along the tour include the Concord Visitor Center, Concord's Colonial Inn, and many other notable landmarks, offering an engaging and immersive way to explore Concord's rich history.

One specific place to highlight along the Concord Go tour is the Wright Tavern, as it was one of the oldest taverns built in America and a significant gathering spot during the revolutionary war. On the tour you are able to see an augmented Tom Wilson, who leads the preservation of the Tavern. He tells you details of the Tavern’s history and brings you to the 51 steps of Freedom channel where you are able to sign your name on the declaration of independence.

With America's 250th anniversary drawing national attention to the nation's founding, there has never been a better time to experience the place where so much of that history began. Whether you're visiting the area or simply looking to learn more about one of America's most historic towns, Concord Go! offers a unique way to step into the past. Click the link here to learn more.
